What is a Personalization Profile in SAP EWM?

A Personalization Profile in SAP EWM is a user-specific or role-specific setting that defines how RF screens, SAP GUI, or Fiori apps are displayed and behave for a warehouse operator or user.

It customizes the user interface and process flow according to the needs of a particular role in the warehouse.

Think of it like a profile for your smartphone: it decides what apps you see, how notifications appear, and your layout. In EWM, it decides what RF screens, fields, or menus an operator sees.

Why Personalization Profiles are Important
  • Simplify screens for warehouse operators → only show relevant tasks.
  • Reduce errors → hide unnecessary fields or options.
  • Role-based access → different profiles for pickers, packers, yard operators, etc.
  • Flexible warehouse processes → each process can have its own UI configuration.
Key Features of Personalization Profile
  1. RF Menu Control

    • Define which RF transactions are available for the user.

    • Example: Picker sees “Picking Task → Confirm Picking” but not “Putaway”.

  2. Screen Personalization

    • Decide which fields are mandatory, optional, or hidden on RF screens.

  3. Role Assignment

    • Profiles are linked to users or warehouse roles.

    • One user can have multiple profiles for different tasks.

  4. Device-Specific Settings

    • Adjust screen layout for handheld scanners, forklift terminals, or mobile devices.

How it Works in EWM ?
  1. Create Personalization Profile

    • Define RF screens and field settings.

    • Assign to a role or directly to a user.

  2. Assign User to Profile

    • User logs in → system applies profile settings.

    • RF screens and menus are personalized accordingly.

  3. Execution

    • Operator sees simplified, role-specific screens.

    • Warehouse tasks can be executed efficiently with minimal confusion.

Transactions / Tools
  • /SCWM/RFUI → Test RF screens with personalization profile.

  • /SCWM/PERS_PROFILE → Configure and manage personalization profiles.

  • ITS Mobile → Apply profiles to handheld RF devices.

Example
  • Role: Outbound Picker

  • Personalization Profile Settings:

    • Only shows “Confirm Picking” and “Display Picking Task”.

    • Fields like “Storage Bin” mandatory, “HU Number” optional.

    • Hide irrelevant buttons like “Putaway” or “Goods Receipt”.
