Purpose of TMG Events
Events in TMG are used to:
- Validate data before it’s saved.
- Set default values when creating entries.
- Restrict access to rows based on user roles.
- Log changes or trigger custom logic.
- Enforce complex business rules beyond field-level checks.
Where You Configure TMG Events
- Transaction: SE54 (Table/View Maintenance)
- Choose: Environment → Events
- Select your table/view and function group
- Choose the desired event number and implement the ABAP logic
TMG Events

| 05 | Before saving data (used for custom validations) |

| 07 | Before display of the maintenance screen (e.g., make fields read-only) |
| 08 | Fill hidden fields or dynamic fields before display |

| 10 | Before creating the new entry |
| 11 | Before changing an entry |
